Do I need to use a "plugin" to open the download?
When you begin a download using certain versions of Netscape, you will see a dialog box prompting you with the following options: "More Info", "Pick App...", "Save File...", or "Cancel". Make sure you select the "Save File" option. The dialog box does ask you to click "More Info", which gives you information about plugins and other extended capabilities of the Netscape Browser. This option is not necessary for a simple file transfer; hence, no plugin should be used.

Can I save the download file to a floppy disk?
It depends on the size of the file. We recommend saving the file to a floppy or Zip disk whenever possible. If the application is too large for a floppy or Zip disk, you should save it to a location on your hard disk where you can easily locate the file. We recommend the Windows desktop since you can always move the file to a different folder after you have had a chance to install the software.

Can I burn the download file to a CD or DVD?
Yes. We recommend saving the file to a temporary location on your hard disk first, and then burning the file to CD or DVD using your recording software.

Is downloading the same as installing?
No. Downloading is the process of transferring the file from our server to your computer. Installing is the process of executing the downloaded file to configure and setup the software on your computer. The file you download is often a Setup program. When you run a Setup program, it guides you through the setup and installation of the software product.

The download is complete, but where did it go?
The best way to know where your downloads are going is to pay close attention to the Save As window at the beginning of the download process. Once you have clicked the download button and selected the option to save the file, you will be given the Save As window which shows you exactly where your download is being saved to on your computer. If you know the filename, you could also do a search on your computer for it.
